Meet Jess
Jess grew up dancing and spent over eight years coaching and teaching dance, an experience that continues to influence her appreciation for movement, expression, and connection. Outside of her work as a therapist, Jess enjoys spending time in the garden, baking from scratch, and making the most of the warmer months with her three children. Whether it's backyard adventures, long walks, or spontaneous play, she values time spent outdoors and the joy it brings to family life.

Jessica Lynch, LPCA
You might feel disconnected, from your peace, your purpose, or even your own body. Maybe you're carrying stress, anxiety, or grief that’s taken root and refuses to let go. Or perhaps you're moving through a life transition and wondering, “Who even am I right now?”
Jess offers a supportive space for clients to slow down, get curious, and reconnect with themselves. She works with teens, adults, and couples navigating the complex layers of being human, anxiety, depression, trauma, identity shifts, relationship struggles, and the overwhelming pace of everyday life. Her clients don’t need to have it all figured out; they just need a place to land.
Her approach is holistic and collaborative, drawing from evidence-based practices like CBT alongside mindfulness, somatic awareness, and strengths-based reflection. Jess helps clients explore not just what’s “wrong,” but what’s within, their intuition, resilience, and innate capacity to heal and grow.
To Jess, therapy is sacred work. It’s about healing, yes, but also about remembering who we are beneath the stress, expectations, and survival mode. Her sessions are intentional, compassionate, and grounded in real connection.

Jess offers therapy sessions both in person (in Newtown and New Milford) and virtually, providing flexible options to meet clients where they are most comfortable.
LPCA vs. LPC
You may notice that Jess is listed as an LPCA (Licensed Professional Counselor Associate) and others therapists are listed as LPC (Licensed Professional Counselor). While both are highly trained and dedicated to providing quality care, there is a difference in their licensure status.

An LPCA has completed a graduate degree in counseling and is fully qualified to provide therapy. They are in the final phase of licensure, which includes completing a certain number of supervised clinical hours under the guidance of a fully licensed professional. This supervision is a valuable part of their development and ensures continued growth, support, and accountability.
An LPC is a fully licensed counselor who has completed all required postgraduate training and is authorized to practice independently.
Why choose an LPCA?
Working with an LPCA can be a uniquely collaborative experience. Because they are actively engaged in supervision and continued training, they often bring fresh perspectives, current research, and a deep commitment to learning. Additionally, LPCA sessions may be available at a reduced rate, depending on the practice.
At our practice, all clinicians, whether LPCA or LPC, are committed to providing compassionate, effective, and ethical care. Supervision is an added layer of support that helps ensure the best outcomes for our clients.
